Woman applying skin care

Have you ever noticed that despite wearing makeup your skin looks somehow tired and lacks the fresh glow every woman desires? Your skin is alive and needs everyday care in order to stay young and flawless. Women should know how to treat their skin even if they do not use makeup. Makeup helps you highlight your best features and it is also one thing most women put on first thing in the morning, some even before they get dressed. What every woman should know regardless of age is how to prepare the skin and what skin care products to apply before makeup. First of all, consider what skin type you have because if your skin is oily, applying the wrong cream may leave it too shiny. Same goes for dry skin, if you use too strong products you may end up with irritated, too dry skin. What you want is smooth, soft skin that will stay fresh for hours even after you have applied makeup. This article from Vine Vera will help you learn the 5 steps about how to prepare your skin before makeup and how to apply the skin care products.

STEP 1 –  Cleaning

When you wake up your skin needs nutrients and cleaning to get rid of excess oil or bacteria for as you know, skin regenerates while we sleep. If you make cleansing part of your regular routine, your skin will be grateful. Find a cleanser that is suitable for your skin type, avoiding strong chemicals in the products that are harsh on skin and using good quality products. Apply the cleanser with your fingers, gently massage and rinse with water and remove with a wet cotton pad or wash cloth. Try the Resveratrol Merlot Cleansing Kit as part of your cleansing process, the set includes a cleanser and toner to make things easy.

STEP 2 – Exfoliating

This step is as important as the first one and you should make it your routine. Choose a chemical scrub that is gentle on your face. Apply on wet or dry face and neck to remove dead cells and after a minute or two of exfoliating, rinse to clean off any remains. Try the Resveratrol Vitamin C Peeling for effective exfoliation combined with the goodness of Vitamin C. The Resveratrol Vitamin C Peeling also impressed Abby, the author of a popular blog known as “Twist Me Pretty”. Here is what she has to say about this excellent product from Vine Vera.

STEP 3 – Toning

Some women skip this step thinking it is not very important, but that is a big mistake. Toners clean pores preparing them to absorb the moisturizer and they also help tighten your skin so it looks younger. Choose mild toners without alcohol and use cotton balls to apply. Instead of toners you can try serums that contain vitamin C known for its healing properties on skin. You should not use strong toners or serums that leave your skin too tight and dry. The type of toner you need is the one made for your skin type. Apply the product all over your face and neck using cotton. The toner included with the Resveratrol Merlot Cleansing Kit is gentle so if you have sensitive skin this would be great to try.

STEP 4 – Moisturizing

Now your skin needs some extra moisture to absorb makeup and stay fresh. The type of moisturizer you will use greatly affects the overall look you want to have because if your skin is soft and moisturized it will shine with that healthy glow. There are creams for every skin type but make sure you choose the right one. If your skin is oily or combination, you might need oil-free moisturizer while dry skin needs rich formulas. Try to avoid oily moisturizers or your makeup will not stay on for long and your forehead or nose will get shiny. Apply the cream in dots all over your face and neck, then massage in small movements pressing  with your fingers. You should always wait for about fifteen minutes before applying makeup for the skin to absorb the cream. When choosing a cream for day wear it is best to go for one with SPF included or you need to apply SPF separately. The Resveratrol Zinfandel Radiance Cream has SPF in it, making it a perfect choice for your day time moisturizer.

STEP 5 – Primer

Primers are perfect products if you want smooth, silky skin that will become your trademark. With so many on the market it may be difficult to choose the right one. You cannot go wrong if you get a primer with silicone that will leave the skin matte and prevent the foundation to mix up with makeup. Apply the primer on your nose, chin and forehead or use tinted moisturizer instead. The Resveratrol Zinfandel Radiance Cream can be used in place of a primer. Not only is it a great day cream with SPF, but it feels rich coming out of the container and then quickly seems to disappear and leave behind a matte glowing finish to the skin.
